It is almost impossible to hunt Kri-Kri Ibex on the island of Sapienza in Greece because terrain and bush are so rugged. However, on this island, there lives one more creature even harder to stalk – mouflon sheep! Their size has become small over time due to limited food and water supplies, just as Kri Kri ibex did. Mouflons have also acquired endurance ere evolutionary changes from the difficult life on the island. Despite being a difficult trophy animal for hunters to acquire (not yet approved for subspecies status), this unique endemic species has adapted wonderfully overtime under such poor living conditions that conservationists hope SCI regulations will soon protect it.
